At times talking about things that are private or distressing can feel like a difficult thing to do.
You will be offered a safe environment in which to talk through your problems, in a way that will enable you to make decisions and changes in your life that will help transform the way you feel.
You will have a strictly confidential service. The only exception may be if there is a likelihood of self harm or of your harming others.
Cases are taken to supervision, but without any identifying details.
How can Counselling help you?Counselling can help if you are feeling depressed, anxious or stressed.
If you feel generally low or are facing a specific crisis such as a loss or bereavement, illness, relationship issues, career crisis, parenting or fertility issues.
I specialise in Post and Ante Natal Depression.
What is Play Therapy?Children and some adults may find it more difficult to put into words what the problem is that they wish to address. Play therapy offers an alternative solution. It is a non verbal way of dealing with and working through issues that are causing problems. This is an alternative therapeutic method for those who cannot, or are unable to talk about their problems, but still wish to deal with them.
What Benefits can be Expected?Counselling offers the opportunity to identify, confront and resolve specific issues in a confidential and therapeutic manner.
I am an accredited member of BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by their code of Ethics.
It is suggested that 6 sessions are initially scheduled, however, there will be an ongoing evaluation of progress between yourself and the Counsellor.
Each session lasts 50 minutes.
Concessions may be available.
It is requested that if you are unable to attend a scheduled session you cancel with 24 hours notice or fees are still payable. Payment is expected to be made at the time of each session.
